Here is the Sports Premium funding for last year evaluated

Sports Premium funding 2016-2017

The government has provided additional funding of £150 million per annum since 2013 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. This funding - provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – has been allocated to schools directly. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

The purpose of the funding is for schools to improve their provision of PE and sport, but we will have the freedom to choose how they do this. Our allocation for 2015-2016 was £9530.

At Aston Clinton all children have access to 2 hours of PE within the school curriculum. We actively promote participation in all forms of sport through the provision of a number of sports clubs available to the children either provided by staff or by external providers. In our weekly praise assembly we celebrate all sporting achievement and participation whether it is an out of school interest or through a school activity.

As a school we have identified our primary need in 2015 is to train our staff in aspects of PE which will enhance the quality of PE lessons and for the children to have access to high quality coaching. We also want to maintain the competition opportunities and participation levels in extra-curricular clubs.
