Last week Year 3 got involved with all things Mexican. They dressed as Mexicans, made and tasted Mexican food, learned about Mexican history and even sang in spanish. This group is dipping banana into "chilli chocolate"..........ARRIBA!

When we went to the Lincolnsfield Centre in Bushey, all the children dressed as WW2 evacuees and were evacuated to the Village Hall. They learnt how to 'make do and mend' in the 1940s house, how to put out an incendiary bomb by pumping water and working as a team, keeping livestock and growing your own vegetables to supplement rations, they heard a first hand account of what it was like to be evacuated, from Mr Harwood who was evacuated at the age of 6, a first hand account from Stan, who fought in the 2nd World War and was a prisoner of war, and they got to experience what it was like to be in an air raid shelter during a bomb attack. All the children came away knowing a lot more about what life was like during WW2. An enjoyable day was had by all - even if some of the adults got told off by Mrs Harwood (either for cheating or having our hands in our pockets)!
