The Governing Body

Who are the governors and what are their interests?

What meetings have they attended

Brett Daddow

I have been a governor at Aston Clinton School since 2011, starting as a parent governor when my daughter began in reception.  I am now a co-opted governor, and became Chair of Governors in 2015.  I live in the village, with two of my daughters currently in the school (Year 2 and Year 4) and a third daughter joining reception in September 2016.  I have been involved in the education sector for over twenty years and currently teach in a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. It is my hope that as a governor, I can contribute to helping the school continue to provide a varied, dynamic curriculum (within Government constraints) so that all our young people grow up equipped to meet the demands of today's society.

Carole Green

I have been a governor at Aston Clinton school since 1999 starting as a parent governor, now a co-opted governor, and I am chairman of the Finance Committee. I live in the village and my two daughters attended the school from reception class onwards and have now finished university! Over the years I have seen the school grow with many exciting developments and as a governor I want to continue to play a part in supporting the school's provision of an outstanding education experience for all children.

Jane Tomkins

I have been a governor at Aston Clinton School for 18 years.  I started as a parent governor and am now appointed by the local authority.  I currently serve on the Personnel Committee but have been a member of all three main committees and served as Chairman for 6 years until September 2014. I have lived in the village for the past 21 years and am married with two sons – one now through university and the other at the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School and hoping to head off to Vet School in September. After a busy career in the central London Civil Service, I now work in the NHS as an administrator.  My hobbies include horse riding and music.

Swagata Mukherjee

I currently have two children at the school, my daughter in Year 3, and my son who has just started in Reception. I recently became a Parent governor to appreciate more about the school that my children attend, understand issues that it faces and be more involved in their education. There is more and more pressure for schools to perform well but I’ve never appreciated the everyday challenges it has had to face in trying to achieve this. Professionally, I am a Project Manager for a Travel & Expense organisation managing several client projects to implement Software as a Service to make out of pocket expenditure more visible to the business whilst maximizing VAT recovery and complying with HMRC guidelines. I have been in this field for 15 years.

Andrew Vincett

I started as a parent governor in 2006 and am now a Local Authority governor.  I live in Aston Clinton and both my children attended the school from reception to year 6, one has finished university and the other is doing GCSEs. I am the governor who has responsibility for  SEN  and meet regularly with Mrs. S Cavender, the Inclusion Manager. I  also have responsibility for monitoring the skills and training for the governing body. I work fulltime for BT and am based at home most of the time.

Gill Frost

I am a parent governor, and I have lived in Buckland, a village next to Aston Clinton, for over 10 years. I am mum to two children in school, one in key stage 1 and one in key stage 2, they also attend the breakfast and after school club on school site on my working days. I am an active member of ACSA, helping to fundraise for school. I work part time as an early years officer in Oxfordshire supporting childcare settings and schools in meeting Ofsted requirements and providing quality early years care and education. I also enjoy reading and trying to keep fit!  I enjoy being a parent governor and am committed to helping Aston Clinton School to support every child attending to become the best that they can be.

James Brine

I was elected as a parent governor in October 2015 and I have one daughter currently in the infants at the school. As a parent I feel passionately about her learning and development, and that of her peers. I believe that every child at the school should have the opportunity to achieve their full potential, in a supportive and happy environment. I am also an active member of ACSA, and play a lead role in the organisation and running of the annual Village Market, raising vital funds to improve the playgrounds and buy extra equipment for the whole school. I have a background in events management, but I now work for a digital marketing agency, helping businesses to see the opportunities for them to grow. Whilst I can’t always make the daily school run, I really enjoy visiting the school for events and seeing the fantastic work that the children produce.
